So I'm starting a campaign soon where the DM did shared rolled stats. Everyone has the following for their stats.
16 15 15 14 10 9
Already this build can easily max out my CHA by level 4 and then at level 8 I can bump up DEX and CON to 16. The campaign is planning on going to 14, so that leaves me one more ASI level to hit. This seems like the most straightforward way to take the class because I can max out my main stat so easy and get a nice boost to two other stats at Level 8. Or I could take those boosts at level 4 and max out my CHA at level 8 if I feel the need to have extra DEX and CON that early. That then leaves level 12 for anything I want. I could bump CON or DEX up again. Or I could
The other obvious route that I had found would be to have CHA at 17 with either DEX or CON at 16 with the other at 15. The reason I would do this would be to get the CHA bump at level 4 and then take the Actor feat at level 8 (DM is not allowing feats at level 4). That's the slower path to maxing out my CHA as well as gimping either DEX or CON until level 12, but this pairs well with Mask of Many Faces that Warlocks get. That and Actor feat were made for each other. If I leave CON at 15, then by level 12 I could grab resilience for the CON proficiency, but that would only matter if I find myself using concentration spells as my warlock.
The rest of my stats would be as follows
WIS 14
STR 10
INT 10
Tiefling allows me to nullify my only -1 stat, so it's a pretty nice stat spread.
I understand stat wise scenario one is way better, but it also would be fun to utilize actor with mask of many faces. Seems like an easy way to infiltrate. Granted it depends on how often I think I could use that spell. Mask by itself could get me into many places already as long as I don't try to mimic a specific person.
It all comes down to if I'd rather have a feat or have both DEX/CON at 16 by level 8.
Of the two, which is better to start at 16? Since I'm in light armor, AC is already pretty low. I don't know if 13 vs 14 would make that much of a difference at low level. Health is always useful. The DeX would only matter if I grabbed the mage armor invocation, which isn't likely if I'm taking agonizing blast and mask of many faces.

Looks pretty solid. Having 18 CHA is fine at level four, and having it fully maxed at 8 is good.
A fool pulls the leaves. A brute chops the trunk. A sage digs the roots.
