It also gives you advantage on one attack against that opponent. Eldritch Blast combined with Agonizing Blast and Hex make that one attack hit pretty hard! It’s not that bad. Plus, what is a Great Old One Warlock doing in melee anyway?

I'm pretty sure EW can be used against a monsters ranged attack (at least my DM allowed it) , and often monsters will manage to get to you despite being in the back.
I'm not saying that EB and AB at advantage isn't powerful. I'm just saying that imo EW should impose disadvantage on all of the attacks of a monster on their one turn. For example, I was attacked by a monster that had a claw and bite attack. EW protected me against the claw, but the monster successfully bit me.
Since there are typically many attacks during a battle, protecting against a single one of those attacks seems under powered, especially since using the ability again requires a short rest, which isn't always easy to do in the middle of a dungeon.
If I understand uncanny dodge correctly, a rogue can use it every turn, whereas EW can only be used once per short rest, which would make UD more powerful.

So, I recently used EW for the first time, and IMO, it under powered.
By the time characters reach 6th level, most of their opponents have multiple attacks, but EW only imposes disadvantage on one attack.
IMO, it should impose disadvantage on all attacks from one monster during a single turn.
As it stands now, EW only seems useful if you're low on hp, and you need to limit damage as much as possible.
Just my 2 cents. I know that WOTC won't read this thread, and my DM is sticking with the rules as written.
