This magical hooded lantern is favored by denizens of the Underdark with sensitive eyes. The lantern burns oil like a conventional hooded lantern, but turns bright light or darkness to dim light in a 30-foot radius, and darkness to dim light for an additional 30 feet. Once lit, it burns for 6 hours on a flask (1 pint) of oil. As an action, you can lower the hood, causing the lantern to dim only a 5 foot radius, or shutter it entirely.
