Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)

Those who engage in ocumancy often have different methods of going about it. Some remove their eyes in favor of replacing them with a doctored eyeball from a beholder; some carve runes onto stones that take the place of their eye. Others spend years conducting the flow of magic through their body, granting them these mysterious arcane powers. Regardless of how an ocumancer comes into their power, they must spend time coaxing it into form, forcing them to realign their magical core by means of attunement. Though techniques are not forgotten, this realignment makes mastering multiple ocumancy techniques difficult, and in some cases, impossible.

While you are attuned to the method that grants you your evil eye, you may engage it as an action, targeting a creature within 60 ft. of you. The target must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the target is paralyzed as long as you maintain concentration on this effect, as though maintaining concentration on a spell. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. This effect counts as magical for the purposes of engaging Magical Resistance.

When you use this effect, you lose sight in one eye until you complete a long rest. During this time, you have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight and on ranged attack rolls. If you only have one eye remaining when you use this ability, you are blinded.

Hey! What's with the little "LK's" thing?

I'm so glad you asked! To keep my homebrew creations separate from official material in my collections, I mark everything I mark with "LK's," which keeps it sorted separate from everything else and lets everyone I'm playing with know that this isn't RAW material, especially if I'm sharing for a campaign I'm playing in. This is something I'm slowly implementing to my already published homebrew on the site as well, giving everyone who uses my content the same heads-up. It also marks this as something I've made by attaching my online initials to the content.
