While holding this rod, you can use an action to activate it. The rod then instantly transports you and up to 199 other willing creatures you can see to a paradise that exists in an extraplanar space. You choose the form that the paradise takes. It could be a tranquil garden, lovely glade, cheery tavern, immense palace, tropical island, fantastic carnival, or whatever else you can imagine. Regardless of its nature, the paradise contains enough water and food to sustain its visitors. Everything else that can be interacted with inside the extraplanar space can exist only there. For example, a flower picked from a garden in the paradise disappears if it is taken outside the extraplanar space.
For each hour spent in the paradise, a visitor regains hit points as if it had spent 1 Hit Die. Also, creatures don't age while in the paradise, although time passes normally. Visitors can remain in the paradise for up to 200 days divided by the number of creatures present (round down).
When the time runs out or you use an action to end it, all visitors reappear in the location they occupied when you activated the rod, or an unoccupied space nearest that location. The rod can't be used again until ten days have passed.
Notes: Healing, Teleportation, Utility

Posted Dec 3, 2022i made a stat block for it basicly the people are called The rod of security kind name pending
description
Long ago, some people hid in a staff of security
There, ceased to age and could exist indefinitely without sustenance. The rod of security kind will use the time of waiting outside the rod to replenish their numbers by having and raising children. Many of rod of security kind are thousands (in some cases tens of thousands) of years old. Whatever their disposition, their longevity gives the rod of security kind a perspective on time that few other kinds of creatures can appreciate.rod of security kind tend to see events happening elsewhere as having little or no meaning to them. they can be outside for 11 days to accont for the wait time

Posted Oct 4, 20231. Be a nobleman, king, or other dignitary
2. Plan a party for all your enemies in 1 week
3. Gather all your soldiers, assassins, and forces together in your banquet hall
4. Give them a nice refreshng time of training, rest, and preparation for a week
5. In the middle of the party, boom, instant surprise attack.
Or:
1. Be a general
2. Retreat your forces into the demiplane as the enemy approaches.
3. The next day, surprise assault from behind the newly-taken lines with fully healed and rested forces.

Posted Nov 12, 2023That massively depends on the prevalence of magic in the campaign setting and how the DM feels about giving out magic items. My current party has only recently reached level 9, and two out of 5 of us have a Very Rare magic item already (another 2 out of 5 of us have a rare magic item, and everyone's got a good couple of other magic items besides). If you're in a high magic campaign with a generous DM, you could easily get this thing well before Wish is on the table.

Posted Oct 16, 2025Might be fun to have a single wizard extend his life 19x longer than normal by spending most of his time there, popping out for a tenday every 200 days to resupply, read the news, and take care of business.
The comment about this being 'so broken' is likely for when playing a survival game or a classic resource-management dungeon-crawl where a free way to get a safe long rest and full healing without burning hit dice makes a huge difference. This would absolutely ruin an old-school dungeon crawl.
