Posted May 11, 2021And as it’s adamantine, and with the improvised weapon from the tavern brawler feat, it would crit every time you would hit an object... nice for a PC going full Cap.

Posted May 24, 2021Does this armor make attacks that would otherwise be a critical hit not automatically hit?

Posted Jul 11, 2021I could envision a Plate set where just top plates are Adamantine-reinforced and the undershirt and joints are Mithral. But for God's sake you better make them kill Asmodeus to get it

It doesn't feel great? You gave your player an item that they probably love and feel the impact in moments where they might otherwise have been knocked out of a fight or killed. I would think it's been a great addition to the memories and stories the players tell about the game. "Remember that time ScarSent scored a crit on my pc when speared by a cave troll? Everyone thought Frodo was mortally wounded, but he brushed it off and jumped back in the fight. It was EPIC"

Posted Oct 27, 2021I know it's probably an unintentional interaction, but RAW it is cheaper to get this than regular nonmagic full plate. Also this IS magic armor strangely. I miss special materials.

Posted Nov 4, 2021Xanathar's a weapon would cost the normal weapon cost + 500gp to have it coated/made of adamantine and would still be a nonmagical weapon. You could run armor the same except: adamantine armor is an uncommon magic item that, according to Xanathar's, would take 200gp and 2 weeks to craft. Now THAT makes no logical sense lol

Posted Nov 26, 2021Personally I'd do "Which is higher, the price for an Uncommon Item or the cost for the Mundane Version of this armor?" and then add a little on top.

Posted Nov 26, 2021Cost: I'd say add a bit onto the higher between the mundane armor cost and the Uncommon Magic Item cost.
Weight: As if normal mundane armor.

Posted Mar 5, 2022It might be RAW, if anyone has a ref. I'd like to see it. A brilliant Armorer could make plate out of bronze, if you look at the charts, ac doesn't mention metallic composition. IMHO chain would benefit the most. piercing mail depends spreading the rings until they break, since most real mail, good mail that is, uses riveted-rings their ac would approach that of plate w/out the lost stealth, movement, and piercing and slashing damage. It would resist bludgeoning, but not stop it. I base this on personal experience. ps. my experience is not wearing it, but making it.

Posted Apr 16, 2022So when it says that “any critical hit becomes a normal hit” does that mean that it still automatically hits, even if the attack doesn’t meet the AC? Like if someone has a +3 to attack and get the nat 20, does that still hit someone with a 25 AC? Or since the critical hit is now a normal hit would it miss?

Posted Apr 19, 2022Pretty sure there is a mistake here. It says adamantine plate needs 15 STR to not get disadvantage on stealth, but you still get it even with 15 STR

Posted Apr 30, 2022@LuRud20 No, you're just misreading it. You never lose the Stealth Disadvantage imposed by an armor type (unless it is Mithral Armor or some other trait allows you to ignore it).
The Strength requirement is referring to the minimum strength your character must have to avoid a Movement Penalty (reduces your Speed by 10 ft.) due to being weighed down/difficult movement (separate from the Encumbered condition). (This trait may also be negated by Mithral Armor or some other trait with the same effect; though the easiest negation is simply meeting the strength requirement.)
