An ancient text, passed down through the ages. Within it contains the detailed lore of thousands of heroes and their deeds. They live on through the pages, offering knowledge and experience to any who study them.

As an action, any creature capable of reading can choose any single skill and spend 1 minute reading and concentrating on the book. After which, they gain proficiency on any rolls using that skill for 1 hour. If it is a skill the creature is already proficient in, they gain double proficiency. After one hour, the creature can regain the bonus with a successful DC15 Intelligence check to remember the teachings, but only on the last skill they chose. After 24 hours, they will need to reread the book to gain any benefits from it.

The creature may also choose one weapon they are not proficient in and spend at least 8 hours a day for 1 week concentrating, studying, and practicing with the chosen weapon to gain a permanent proficiency with that weapon.
