Wand, uncommon
This gold-and-black striped fork has 3 charges, and it regains 1d4-1 charges daily at dawn. As an action, you can yell "BEEEEES!" and expend a charge to summon a swarm of bees (use the statistics for a Swarm of Wasps from the Monster Manual).
What happens when someone else shouts ‘BEEEEEEES’?
Just wanted to say that I included this in my campaign as the very first item the monk (brand new player btw) was able to purchase. He jumped at it. 8 levels and all 3 attunement slots filled and it is still his favorite item and he is always looking for reasons to use it.
I did change one thing for added effect though. Anyone who says "Bees" or uses the word "be" within a 10 ft diameter of the fork summons the bees centered on the fork. If someone is holding the fork, they may make a DC 10 DEX save to try to summon the bees up to 10 ft away.
The party keeps it in the bag of holding (no sound can get in or out) so as to not accidentally summon a swarm on themselves.
Just figured I'd say thanks for the interesting item, it really made my new player's day/campaign.
It's been a minute since I've been on here... 😅
I'm glad you and the monk like the Fork! It makes me very glad to hear my silly magic item brought some fun into someone's game. The change is definitely solid; I'm sure it makes things much more... interesting.
Incorporated the Fork of Bees into my campaign and I can second QuotableGnome08's praise of it. It was wielded against the great Cryovain and managed to be the turning point of the fight. There is a physical fork of bees the player made and displays in her home now that the game is ended. She will still just randomly shout 'Fork of BEEEESSS!!' if she finds a fork in the wild (discarded at the park, left in the wrong spot at the store, etc.).
