Magic Resistance. The brute has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Material Projection (1/day). While on the astral plane, the brute can perform a 1 hour ritual to project itself onto the material plane. Its form on the material plane is tethered to its true form by a silvery cord. Its true form is unconscious while it is projecting in this way. This projection ends if the brute’s form on the material plane is reduced to 0 hit points, if its true form takes any damage, if the brute ends it as a bonus action, or if the brute’s silvery cord is cut. When a creature using a magical melee weapon that deals slashing damage rolls a 20 on an attack roll against either of the brute’s forms while it is projecting, it can cut the cord. The brute must then make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw. On a successful save, the brute’s true form awakens as normal. On a failed save, the brute’s true form instantly dies.
Silvered Weapons. The brute’s weapon attacks are silvered.
Multiattack. The brute makes two weapon attacks.
Greataxe. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (1d12 + 7) slashing damage plus 10 (3d6) force damage. On a critical hit against a target in an astral body (as with the astral projection spell), the beast can cut the silvery cord that tethers the target to its material body, instead of dealing damage.
Astral Shield (Recharge 5-6). When the brute would take damage or be hit by an attack it can use its reaction to gain a +5 bonus to AC and immunity to force damage until the end of its next turn, potentially causing the attack that triggered this reaction to miss if it was triggered by an attack.
