Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the dragon fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Actions

Multiattack. The dragon can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (2d10 + 10) piercing damage plus 17 (4d6) fire damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d6 + 10) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d8 + 10) bludgeoning damage.

Frightful Presence. Each creature of the dragon's choice that is within 120 feet of the dragon and aware of it must succeed on a DC 21 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the dragon's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

Fire Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon exhales fire in a 90-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 24 Dexterity saving throw, taking 91 (26d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Digestion. When in the Maw Dragon's Digestion stomach, each turn you will take (1d10 + 4) acid damage.

Vore Of Judgement. The dragon will Vore any amount of willing people outside of battle, his guts will judge them either worthy, and send them to the True stomach, or unworthy, and send them to the digestion stomach.

Legendary Actions

The dragon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The dragon regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Detect. The dragon makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.

Tail Attack. The dragon makes a tail attack.

Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions). The dragon beats its wings. Each creature within 15 feet of the dragon must succeed on a DC 25 Dexterity saving throw or take 17 (2d6 + 10) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The dragon can then fly up to half its flying speed.

Description

A giant red dragon with a huge, gaping maw the size of a house. This dragon has dark blue eyes and large gray horns. It emanates an aura of intimidation.

Lair and Lair Actions

The Maw Dragon’s Lair

The Maw Dragon lives inside a castle on a high mountain.

In it's true stomach, a dungeon with high level enemies awaits only those worthy. It is a typical brick wall dungeon with chests and battles, but the walls, floor, and ceiling are made of  slippery stomach flesh.

Throughout the slippery stomach lair complex, servants erect monuments to the dragon’s power, telling the grim story of its life, the enemies it has slain, and the nations it has conquered.

Lair Actions

Every five turns when someone is in it's true stomach, it can roll Con, if it gets a nat 20 the dragon takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the dragon can’t use the same effect twice in a row:

  • The dragon shakes its true stomach around, causing each player to roll a Dex save, if they fail, they trip and take (1d6 + 2) damage and are stunned for one turn.
  • The dragon drinks an entire lake, flooding the dungeon, dealing (1d10) water damage to anyone on or close to the ground.
  • The dragon releases sticky substance into all the dungeon surfaces, all players get a -2 to dexterity and halved movement speeds for 5 turns.
  • The dragon opens trap doors to the digestion stomach, if you are standing on a trap door tile, roll Dex. If failed, you will be released into the digestion stomach.

Regional Effects

The region containing a legendary red dragon’s lair is warped by the dragon’s magic, which creates one or more of the following effects:

  • The dungeon inside the dragon is infested with high level dragonborn and skeletons.
  • The dungeon is very slippery, so every five turns if there is no sticky substance, roll Dex with a +4. If you fail, you trip.
  • Inside the digestion stomach there is one way out, the intestines. you must successfully roll 3 Dex checks to make your way through the intestines, out the behind, and down the mountain. A spell will be cast so you cannot enter the castle for three days.

The Reward

If you make it to the end of the true stomach and defeat the boss, you will be given the dragonsbane point. The dragonsbane point is a sword on a podium in the final room after the boss room. To get out, you must go through an extra line of intestines, these ones do not deal digestion damage.

Misc

If the dragon dies, the stomach collapses, killing everyone inside and teleporting the sword if it is still inside the dragon, then the dragon will be reborn. As the dragon is reborn and starts generating more servants inside it's true stomach, the sword will be teleported to the end of the new true stomach. If you die inside the digestion stomach, the dragon heals half your maximum health.
