Death Throes. When the baron dies, it explodes, and each creature within 30 feet of it must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 14 (4d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Demonic Devotion. The baron has advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.
Multiattack. The baron makes two claw attacks. It can also use Nether Coil before or after making these attacks.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) slashing damage, plus 3 (1d6) lightning damage if the baron has no more than half its hit points remaining.
Nether Coil. The baron targets one creature within 90 feet of it that it can see and chooses one of the following options (roll a d4 or choose one); Summoning Coil cannot be used more than once per day:
1. Burdening Coil. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the target's speed is halved, and regardless of the target’s abilities or magic items, it can’t make more than one melee or ranged attack during its turn, for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a successful save.
2. Horrifying Coil. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, with disadvantage if the baron is visible to the target, ending the effect on itself on a successful save.
3. Summoning Coil. The baron has a 50 percent chance of summoning 1d2 dretches. The summoned dretches appear in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of the target, act as an ally to the baron, and cannot summon other demons. They remain for 1 minute, until they or the baron dies, or until the baron dismisses them as an action.
4. Thundering Coil. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. The target can't use its reaction until the end of its next turn and takes 10 (2d6 + 3) lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.
