Traits

Charge. If Ursul moves at least 10 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 14 (4d6) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 10 feet away and knocked prone.

Monstrous Focus. Ursul has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, frightened, paralyzed, poisoned, stunned, or put to sleep.

Shadow Awakening. If damage reduces Ursul to 0 hit points, it doesn't die or fall unconcscious. Instead, it regains 200 hit points and its bones enlarge and sharpen piercing its hide as inky shadow flows out of the the wounds covering it in shadowy armor, granting it 100 temporary hit points it loses radiant resistance and gains a vulnerability to radiant damage, additionally it changes from a Monstrosity to Undead Monster type and gains +4 AC. While it has these hit points it deals 4d6 necrotic damage to any creature that starts its turn within 30 feet of Ursul.

Keen Smell. Ursul has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Survival) checks that rely on smell.

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Ursul fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Actions

Multiattack. Ursul can use his Frightful Presence. He then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d8 + 7) piercing damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (4d6 + 7) slashing damage.

Frightful Presence. Each creature of Ursul's choice that is within 90 feet of Ursul and aware of him must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to Ursul Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

Legendary Actions

Ursul can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Ursul regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Attack. Ursul makes one claw attack.

Ground Slam (Costs 2 Actions). Ursul slams the ground, triggering an earth tremor. All other creatures on the ground within 10 feet of Ursul must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Wide Berth (Costs 3 Actions). Ursul moves up to half his speed and can move through the space of any creature smaller than Huge. The first time Ursul enters a creature’s space during this move, the creature must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw. If the saving throw succeeds, the creature is pushed 5 feet away from Ursul . If the saving throw fails, that creature is knocked prone, and Ursul can make a claw attack against it.

Mythic Actions

If Ursul is a Mythic encounter, it can use the options below as legendary actions for 1 hour after using Shadow Awakening.

Shadow Eruption. Ursul pierces the ground with shadowy tendrils that impale up to 6 targets within 60 feet. Targets must make a DC 18 Dexterity save or take 4d12 necrotic damage on a failure, half on a success.

Bone Armor. Additional bone plating surfaces through the skin of Ursol. Ursul loses 15 HP but gains a +1 to AC (max +5) for 1 minute and Restores 15 temporary hit points to its shadowy armor.

Shadow Binding (Costs 3 actions). Ursol controls the shadows of each enemy in range to hold them in place. Each must make a DC 18 Wisdom save or be paralyzed until the end of Ursul's next turn.
