Description
Balearic Slingers are expert lead bullet slingers, used as elite skirmishers in battle. They are from the Balearic islands (Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza), but can be found across the Mediterranean in groups for hire as mercenaries. Their fast and rapid sling attacks, as well as their mobility, makes them great light infantry and ranged support. They are trained from infancy with the sling until they never miss a target.
Balearic slingers do not wear armor as it would slow down their rapid movement, and are never meant to get into melee. They usually wear simple linen cloth and a sun hat, with their sling and lead projectile bag attached to a belt at the waist. People of the Balearic islands have long since integrated into Phoenician society, and believe in the Phoenician pantheon, and follow the goddess Astarte and the god Melqart, among others.
