Traits

Amaranthine Larva. When an Amaranthine stings a creature, they infect them their larvae. If the larvae are not removed within 24 hours, the larvae hatch and begin making their way to the host's brain. Over the course of 1 hour, the creature begins experiencing feverish symptoms. Every 5 minutes, there is a 5% chance for the creature to take 3 (1d4) necrotic damage, every minute that passes the chance increases by 5%. When the creature takes the damage they can make a DC 14 Wisdom (insight) check to discern their folly. The larvae can be removed via a Remove Curse spell or similar effect. For every larvae within the creature, they take an extra 1d4 necrotic damage.

False Appearance. While the Amaranthine remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a flower.

Prickling Flower. While it is still, the Amaranthine can make a sting attack against a creature that touches it. If the attack hits, the creature can make a DC 18 Wisdom (insight) check to detect the Amaranthine, otherwise it believes they were simply prickled by a thorn. Also the creature takes no damage and is only infested with Larvae.

Magic Resistance. The Amaranthine has advantage on saves against spells and other magical effects.

Actions

Sting. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., 5 target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be infested by 1d4 Amaranthine Larvae.

Description

When brought over on the ARK, the Amaranthine-Deceptors had a hard time adapting to worlds without Flowers of Resilience and were nearly wiped out. However due to the loving guidance from the Golden Crown and the biological tinkering from the Beast King, they were able to adapt to many new worlds taking on the forms of many flowers. Depending on the flower and the location, Amaranthine-Deceptors alignments will change. When in swarms, Amaranthine-Deceptors can gain certain powers to help them better survive within other worlds.

A few Eternal Fortunes were brought over at the discretion of the Golden Crown, who had them placed in his personal garden. The Golden Crown kept his own personal Amaranthine-Deceptors that live within his flower garden and act as garden guardian.
