Traits

Magic Resistance. The Avacato has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Innate Spellcasting. The Avacato is a 1st-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is [Wisdom (spell save DC 13). The Avacato has following spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): [druidcraft], [thunderclap]
1/day: [goodberry]

Actions

Scratch. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit:  2 (1d4+2) slashing damage.

Edible Armour: the avacato grows an outer shell of fresh fruit. Until it sheds its shell it gains a +2 bonus to AC & regenerates 1 hit point at the end of each of its turns. While in this form the avacato also has resistance to piercing and slashing damage. While in the shell, the avacato is blinded, its speed is 0 and can't increase. It has a disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws.  This ability recharges after a short or long rest.

Reactions

Mighty Meow. When threatened by a creature that is not fooled by its disguise in Edible Armour form, the avacato has one last line of defense. When concerned the avacato unleashes it's thunderously loud meow. Most creatures are startled by how something so little can generate such a loud noise. When Mighty Meow is used all creatures within a 20ft radius must pass a DC 13 Wisdom saving through or be stunned. Every stunned creature remains stunned until the saving through is passed on their turn or 15-minutes have passed.

Description

"I may have offended my familiar when I told it it was the good type of fat." - Rad the Brown, Firbolg Druid

Avocatos appear to be the pip or stone of the creamy green fruit. They resemble cars, although their skin is hardened plant fibres with the resilience of wood. Their legs are tiny in comparison to their larger round bodies. They are able to curl into a perfect ball by flattening their ears and prefer rolling to walking around.

Sweet Seeds. The avacato fruit grows on avocato trees in warmer climates. When the fruit is ripe the avacato inside the fruit will awaken and begin shaking the fruit loose from the branches. The fruit protects the avacato sheds the fruit and consumes it.

The avacato is considered the larvae stage of the avacato's lifespan and within 1 year the avacato will plant itself. This allows the avacato to eventually sprout and grow into an avacato tree it's self.

Variant: Avacato Familiar. Some avacato are willing to serve spellcasters as a familiar. Such avacatos have the following trait.

Familiar. The avacato can serve another creature as a familiar, forming a magic telepathic bond with that willing companion. While the two are bonded, the companion can sense what the avacato sense as long as they are within 1 mile of each other. While the avacato is within 10 ft of its companion, the companion shares the avacato's magic resistance trait. When a companion consumes the avocado's edible armour the healing is maximised. At any time and for any reason, the avacato can end its service as a familiar, ending the telepathic bond.
