False Appearance (Not really). While the Amaranthine is remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a 5-foot tall flower.
Giant Amaranthine Larva. When a Giant Amaranthine stings a creature, they infect them their larvae. If the larvae are not removed within 24 hours, the larvae hatch and begin making their way to the host's brain. Being much larger then their normal counterparts, giant larvae are much easier to notice and hurt a lot more when chewing through a creature. Over the course of 1 hour, the creature begins experiencing severe pain and body tremors. Every 5 minutes, there is a 5% chance for the creature to take 3 (3d12) necrotic damage, every minute that passes the chance increases by 5%. When the creature takes the damage they can make a DC 11 Wisdom (insight) check to discern their folly. The larvae can be removed via a Remove Curse spell or similar effect. For every larvae within the creature, they take an extra 1d12 necrotic damage.
Prickling Flower. While it is still, the Giant Amaranthine can make a sting attack against a creature that touches it. If the attack hits, the creature can make a DC 12 Wisdom (insight) check to detect the Amaranthine, otherwise it believes they were simply prickled by a giant thorn. Also the creature takes no damage and is only infested with Giant Larvae.
Magic Resistance. The Giant Amaranthine has advantage on saves against spells and other magical effects.
Multiattack. The Giant Amaranthine makes two attacks with its Stinger.
Stinger. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 18 (2d12 + 4) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw or be infested by 1d4 giant amaranthine larvae.
