Magic Immunities. The warp demon cannot be affected by the spells: Time Stop, Slow, or Hold Monster.
Condition Immunities. The warp demon has a temporal ripple around itself at all times, and thus cannot be prone or paralyzed.
Damage Resistance. The warp demon has resistance to all non-magical damage. Additionally, the warp demon has resistance to all cold, fire and necrotic damage types, including magical.
Skill Expertise. Because of it's keen control of time, the warp demon has expertise in Perception and cannot be Surprised, is not vulnerable to Sneak Attack and automatically succeeds on all Perception checks.
Multiattack. The warp demon uses Temporal Bubble if it can. It then makes two attacks with it's twin maces.
Mace. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage.*
Temporal Bubble; (Recharge 2–6). The warp demon whirls its chain maces in an arc and they emit a disorienting sound, like a high pitched mechanical whir or reverberation, which creates a temporal warp in a 15 ft sphere around the warp demon. Each creature within 15 feet of the warp demon's choosing must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be enveloped in the Temporal Bubble for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the warp demon's Temporal Bubble for the next 24 hours.
While enveloped in the Temporal Bubble, all affected creatures are slowed as though under the effects of a Slow spell, and the warp demon has it's move rate and number of attacks doubled. Additionally, affected targets may not use the Disengage action, the Hide action or the Dash action, and creatures outside of the Temporal Bubble cannot affect any creature or target inside the Temporal Bubble with any weapon or spell. The Temporal Bubble may be dispelled using the Dispel Magic spell, and is considered a 5th level spell for means of determining difficulty to dispel.
Teleport. The warp demon magically teleports, along with any equipment it is wearing or carrying, up to 120 feet to an unoccupied space it can see.
*inside the Temporal Bubble the Maces get four attacks per round, rather than two.
Once per day, as a reaction, upon being hit by any weapon or spell that does damage of any type, if the warp demon is reduced to less than 1/4 of it's max Hit Points, it may choose to restore itself to full health.
Description
Warp Demons are temporal fiends in the thrall of evil warlocks, liches, elemental evil creatures, powerful auntie and grandmother hags, and extra-planar creatures. They are fleshy, gaunt demons with frayed wings and bony, triangular heads with no mouth, nose or eyes. They carry two ball-and-chain maces that they fight with, and use to create a temporal bubble around their victims that speeds up time for them and slows it for their target.
The warp demon has tattered wings, but does not use them to fly. Instead, the warp demon seems to levitate on a rippling current of temporal energy, hovering just above the ground or floor. It has vestigial legs that look like the flesh was raked open and the bones torn out. Flaps of fetid skin, shredded and tangled, hang from the useless legs, seeming to blur in and out of the time warp created by the demon.
The warp demon is telepathic and can communicate with any creature that has an Intelligence of 3 or higher. Having no mouth, the warp demon does not speak aloud, ever. The warp demon understands the thoughts of any creature it communicates with, but only speaks Abyssal itself. A creature that does not wish to allow the warp demon access to its thoughts must make a difficulty 15 Intelligence saving throw in order to protect their mind from the warp demon. On a successful save, a target is immune to having its mind read by the warp demon for 24 hours. Any target may willingly let the warp demon communicate telepathically, even if they are within the 24 hour time after a saving throw versus the effect.
A warp demon does not require food, water, air or rest and does not age.
