Traits

Shapechanger. The ijiraq can use its action to polymorph into a Small or Medium humanoid it has seen, or back to its true form. It reverts to its true form if it dies. Its statistics, other than its size, are the same in each form. Anything it is wearing transforms with it, but nothing it is carrying does.

Magic Resistance. The ijiraq has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Magic Weapons. The ijiraq's weapon attacks are magical.

Corner of the Eyes. The ijiraq can't be seen if looked at directly. A creature can avert its eyes to see the ijiraq from the corners of their eyes. If it does so, any attacks against the ijiraq is at a disadvantaged. If it is hit by an attack, this trait is disrupted until the end of its next turn. This trait is also disrupted while the ijiraq is incapacitated or has a speed of 0.

Memory Loss. After encountering an ijiraq, a creature must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw to remember the events. On a failure, the details of the encounter rapidly fade away from the creature’s mind, including the presence of the ijiraq.

Innate Spellcasting. The ijiraq's innate spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 18). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: chill touch, fog cloudgustmisty stepsuggestion, thaumaturgy
3/day each: enervation, hallucinatory terrainice storm
1/day each: circle of death, mass suggestionotiluke's freezing sphere

Actions

Multiattack. The ijiraq makes three claw attacks.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (1d12 + 5) slashing damage plus 11 (2d10) necrotic damage.

Invisibility. The ijiraq magically turns invisible until it attacks or until its concentration ends (as if concentrating on a spell). Any equipment the ijiraq wears or carries is invisible with it.

Reactions

Frigid Rebuke. When the ijiraq takes damage from a creature the ijiraq can see within 60 feet of it, the ijiraq can force that creature to succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or take 11 (2d10) cold damage.

Description

Ijirait are shapeshifters that are human like in form but with sideways mouth and glowing red eyes. They can only be seen from the corner of your eyes for a fleeting moment. They are shapeshifters that can appear in any form they choose. Legend says that these shapeshifters, or shadow people, are those that have traveled too far north and became trapped between the world of the living and the dead. They are naturally evil beings that likes to kidnap children and abandoned them and lead people astray. They have a fondness for the taste of sentient humanoid meat.

After an encounter with the Ijiraq, people tend to experience memory loss and quickly forget the details of what happened.
