Description

Ursidae come from  a far away land up north in the material plane. They creatures created by Urside, the god of the cold and bears, who wanted to have a way to defend his lands of the cold. They are a hybrid looking half man half bear. They come in a variety of forms, but they are all massive and strong creatures. They feast on flesh and devour their enemies. They have a hunger for war and for glory, an use honor as their base of society.

They live in tribes and clans, varying  from 15 Ursidae to more than a hundred. They have a clan Chieftain, who rules and the tribe. Most of what the tribe does, they all decide it together, but the chieftain leads them into battle and represents the clan. He is also the most respected. Most Ursidae are Warriors, some of them sometimes being blacksmiths, armorers, shamans or hunters, but either way they all go to battle. The better your roll is, the higher up you are classed. The order goes like this; the lowest are the cooks and the leatherworkers. They are than proceed by the warriors and the hunters. After that, their are the blacksmiths and armorers, then it's the clan ancients and the shaman, and finally, it is the chieftain and his mate.

Ursidae mate in a variant way than normal races. The female normally chooses the strongest and most capable to survive who is not taken by another female. If the female finds to male equal, they fight each other, but not to the death. For war, they treat it like a religion. They use smart tactics, but they mainly use brute force. They sometimes even fight between clans. If they are faced against a large threat, they will team up with allied clans to form a war band, and have not only strength in brute force and skill in combat, but also in numbers. Clans are normally divided between subrace; Polar bear with Polar bear, Panda With Panda. But, it happens sometimes that there is a clan with diversity (sometimes beneficiation their tactics in combat)

Ursidae Speak their one language. Here are a couple words in bear:

Hi: Gla    Good Day: Klornka              Ursidae: Oursidark     Male/Bear: Rosque                             Female: Kalia                              Big/Large/tall: Tornke               Small/Short: Tournke  Weapon: Nak              Sword: Kloufnak                  Battleaxe: Blarknak   Handaxe: Tounrke Blarnak      Greataxe: Tornke Blarnak          Clan/Family/Village:  Toska      War: Tak                        Honor/Glory: Lak  Shaman: Shansk                      Bow: Lognak

A Ursidae Chieftain is the leader and representative of a certain bear tribe or clan. To become Chieftain, you must first defeat the current leader in a one-on-one no weapon duel. The defeated is shamed and the winner is praised as Chieftain.
