Arcane Recovery (1/Day). When she finishes a short rest, Arastina recovers spell slots adding up to a total 8 levels of 5th level and lower.
Bladesong (2/SR). Arastina can invoke a secret elven magic called the Bladesong, provided she isn’t wearing medium or heavy armor or using a shield. She can use a bonus action to start the Bladesong, which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if she is incapacitated, if she dons medium or heavy armor or a shield, or if she uses two hands to make an attack with a weapon. She can also dismiss the Bladesong at any time (no action required).
While her Bladesong is active, she gains the following benefits:
- She gains a bonus to her AC equal to 5.
- Her walking speed increases to 40 feet.
- She has advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks.
- She gains a +5 to any Constitution saving throw to maintain her concentration on a spell.
She regains all uses of this feature when she finishes a short or long rest.
Fey Ancestry. Arastina has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Keen Senses. Arastina has advantage when making perception checks using Wisdom
Magic Resistance. Arastina has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. In addition, she has advantage on Constitution saving throws to maintain concentration as a result of taking damage.
Martial Adept (1/SR). Arastina has martial training that allows her to perform special combat maneuvers. She has the following benefits:
- Arastina has two maneuvers whose saving throw DC equals 16. In addition she gains one superiority die, which is a d6. The superiority die is expended when she uses it. She regains the expended superiority dice when she finishes a short or long rest:
- Precision Strike. When she makes a weapon attack roll against a creature, she can expend the superiority die to add it to the roll. She can use this maneuver before or after making the attack roll, but before any effects of the attack have been applied.
- Pushing Attack. When she hits a creature with a weapon attack, she can expend the superiority die to attempt to drive the target back. She adds the superiority die to the attack’s damage roll, and if the target is Large or smaller, it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is pushed up to 15 feet away from her.
Special Equipment. Arastina wields a Mind Blade which in her hands deals an extra 2d6 of psychic damage. Since no one else in the party is a thrall to a Mind Flayer, it is useless to them.
Spellcasting. Arastina is an 18th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 18, +10 to hit with spell attacks). She can cast shield and misty step at will and has the following wizard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): blade ward, booming blade, green flame blade, sword burst, shocking grasp, lightning lure
1st level (4 slots): detect magic, absorb elements, magic missile, thunderwave
2nd level (3 slots): blindness/deafness, mirror image, [Tooltip Not Found]
3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, [Tooltip Not Found], tidal wave
4th level (3 slots): blight, fire shield, dimension door
5th level (3 slots): synaptic static, far step, wall of force
6th level (1 slot): chain lightning
7th level (1 slot): prismatic spray
8th level (1 slot): feeblemind
9th level (1 slot): invulnerability
Multiattack. Arastina attacks twice with her scimitar. While her Bladesong is active, she adds +5 to the damage of any melee weapon attack.
Mind Blade Scimitar. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d6 + 6) slashing damage, or 14 (1d6 + 11) slashing damage while Bladesong is active and 7 (2d6) psychic damage. If the target is concentrating on a spell, they have disadvantage on the Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration.
Strike Like Wind (Recharge 5-6). Arastina readies herself, the wind picks up around her, and with a sound like the crack of a whip, she disappears from sight. Moving faster than the wind, Arastina strikes at up to 5 targets within 30 ft. of her, dealing 33 (6d10) force damage on a failed Dexterity saving throw or half as much on a successful one to each target and coming to a stop within 5 ft. of any of the targets affected.
Mage Slayer. Arastina can make an attack with her scimitar against someone who casts a spell within 5 ft. of her.
Song of Defense. Arastina can direct her magic to absorb damage while her Bladesong is active. She expends one spell slot and reduces that damage by an amount equal to 5 x the spell slot’s level.
War Caster. When a hostile creature's movement provokes an opportunity attack from her, she can use her reaction to cast a spell at the creature, rather than making an opportunity attack. The spell must have a casting time of 1 action and must target only that creature.
Arastina can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Arastina regains spent legendary actions at the start of her turn.
Quick Strike. Arastina makes one melee attack with her scimitar.
Cast a Spell (Costs 1–3 Actions). Arastina expends a spell slot to cast a 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-level spell that she has prepared. Doing so costs 1 legendary action per level of the spell.
