Description
The Vorokhoi Bane Zombie is a creature neither completely dead nor alive. It is created by summoning a small insect-like aberration called a “Void Baneling” native to some unknown plane. through hideous ritual sacrifices. If one of these creatures is implanted on the face of a carefully prepared subject while still alive, the victim will be transformed into a “Vorokhoi Bane Zombie” over a period of days. Stronger and faster than a Human being, these undead warriors were used as shock troops, bodyguards, and elite forces by the Dark Emperor Fermas Vorokhoi and his supporters. It is said that the knowledge of how to create and control Vorokhoi Bane Zombies was granted to him by his infernal patrons, and then shared with supporters as a reward. The rituals required were lost or deliberately suppressed, but periodically a warlock will turn up with the techniques in evidence.
A Vorokhoi Bane Zombie is plainly undead, with chalky white skin mottled with purplish discolored patches and dark, plainly visible veins. The face is obscured by a hideous organic mass, pulsing and covered with eyespots and various indescribable organs. This mass, composed of what remains of the “void baneling” used to create it, holds the creature’s sensory organs and the glands which generate the zombie’s acid spittle. While Vorokhoi Bane Zombies are formidable enough barehanded, they are usually equipped with armor and weapons by their creators. In combat, they will attack with their claws if no weapons are available. Vorokhoi Bane Zombies are utterly fearless and unquestioningly loyal to their creators, but unlike most undead they are neither mindless nor blindly aggressive. They are relatively cunning combatants, capable of targeting specific foes, seeking tactical advantage, and adapting to changing situations.
