Constructed Nature. The animated grimoire does not require food, water, air, or sleep.
False Appearance. While the grimoire remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a normal book.
Magic Resistance. The animated grimoire has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Innate Spellcasting. The animated grimoire is a 7th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks). The grimoire can cast the following spells requiring no components:

1st level (4 slots): chromatic orb, grease, shield
2nd level (3 slots): aganazzar's scorcher, misty step, shatter
3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, tidal wave
4th level (1slot): evard's black tentacles
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6 + 2) bludgeoning damage.
