Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the Apex Bear fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Keen Smell. The bear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Relentless Vigor. At the beginning of its turn, the Apex Bear regains 2d10+2 of health.
Multiattack. The bear makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 26 (4d8 + 10) piercing damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (4d6 + 8) slashing damage.
Roar (Recharge 5-6). The bear lets loose a deafening roar. Creatures within 30ft that can hear the roar must make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or be frighten for 1 minute. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turn, ending the effect on success.
Defensive Stance. Years of surviving battles has led to the Apex Bear to have an understanding how to best defend themselves. They take a defensive stance - increasing their armor class to 21 until the beginning of it's next turn. While in defensive stance, its attack damage is reduced by half.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (4d6 + 8) slashing damage.
Despair. This action can only be used after a creature attacks and misses Apex Bear. Apex Bear seemingly stares into the soul of the attackers. The attackers must make a DC 17 WIS saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turn, ending the effect on success.
