Antimagic Cone. The beholder's central eye creates an area of antimagic, as in the Antimagic Field spell, in a 60-foot cone. The eye is found somewhere within the room and causes a constant anti magic cone in the direction it looks. The cone stays directed in one direction unless someone physically moves it.

Actions

Eye Rays: The Beholder makes one stalk attack per initiative count 20

1. Charm ray: One stalk aims at a creature within range, that creature makes a DC 13 wisdom save or be charmed by the Beholder for 1 hour or until it takes damage.

2. Slow Ray: The targeted creature must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the target's speed is halved for 1 minute. In addition, the creature can't take reactions, and it can take either an action or a bonus action on its turn, not both. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

3. Sleep Ray: The targeted creature must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or fall asleep for one minute. Another character can use their action to wake the creature up or the creature can wake early if it takes damage.

Description

Beholders, while powerful creatures can fall prey to immense magic and curses. A common curse bestowed on beholders is that to turn the beholder into a room. Folded inside out a beholder can find travelers walking through what used to be the inside of its stomach now simply the walls of a cavern. The only defense it has are the few stalks that it has pushed inwards through its own skin and its central eye removed and placed randomly within the room.

The eyes work normally, projecting a diminished version of its anti-magic cone(60 ft) and still allows the beholder to look in the direction it was placed.

(This is meant to add lore and a challenge to dungeons and rooms found by explorer's; Hit points and Ac are for each Eye stalk individually, once the stalks reach 0 HP the stalk is destroyed)

Lair and Lair Actions

A cursed Beholder can be found in any cavern or dungeon. The curse can cause a new room to spawn within the depths of the under dark all the way to a cave on the outskirts of a town.  Once the main eye is removed from the room the eye stalks begin to shrink away each round after until each stalk is gone. The curse remains in the room dormant until the eye is returned. The eye itself still has vision as it is carried with the creature who removed it from the room.
