Traits

Abhorrent Presence: Natural animals will not approach the Blighted of their own volition. Coaxing an animal to come within 10 feet of a Blighted requires a DC 15 Animal Handling check.

Life Sense. The Blighted can sense the location of any creature within 60 feet of it, unless that creature’s type is construct or undead.

Relentless Fortitude. If damage reduces the Blighted to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the spawn drops to 1 hit point instead.

Actions

Multiattack. The Tumor Brute makes two slam attacks.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage.

Ichor Splash. When the Tumor Brute takes melee damage, one of its tumors bursts. The attacker must make a DC 14 Dexterity save or take 2d4 points of acid damage. On a successful save, the attacker takes half damage.

Description

A Tumor Brute is created when a Large humanoid creature is infected with the Blight. Once infected, the creature's form swells as tumors spread across its bloated body. Black ichor leaks from its empty eye sockets and from the tumors, coating it in an oily film that stings to the touch. The Brute can't communicate or be reasoned with. It relentlessly seeks out non-infected creatures; some it kills outright, others it seeks to capture and hold to they can be infected with the Blight.

Lore:
The Blight is an ultra-cosmic plague that seeps through cracks in the planar walls, corrupting everything in its path. There is much speculation as to the Blight's true nature. Some claim it is a "divine putrescence" leaking from the corpse of a dead god. Others believe it is a doomsday weapon unleashed by a long dead race. The worshippers of Atropos, Goddess of Entropy, claim it is her will made manifest. What is known is that it acts like a true plague, spreading across space and time as it transforms the living into avatars of madness (Arcana check DC 19).
