Everlasting Hunger. The Ab-Tekeli still hungers for knowledge, even in its wretched state. Whenever an Ab-Tekeli hits with a melee attack, it can copy a cantrip or first level spell from you. It must cast it within an hour, or else it disappears. When it casts the spell, it goes away.

Actions

Stolen Knowledge. The Ab-Tekeli casts a stolen spell.

Rend. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 6 (1d4 + 4) slashing damage.

Souless Gaze. RangedWeapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 60 ft., 1 target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) psychic damage, and the Ab-Tekeli heals for the damage dealt.

Reactions

Spell Shield. Whenever an Ab-Tekeli is hit by a spell, it can attempt to shield itself from its effects. The DC is 15 plus the spell level. If it succeeds, it reflects the spell back at the caster.

Description

Ab-Tekeli are miserable creatures that are warped by otherworldy curses. If a humanoid studies forbidden knowledge they sometimes are corrupted and turn into Ab-Tekeli. Sometimes the form is given as a curse by an angry eldritch being. Either way, the only thing that fuels the Ab-Tekeli is its hunger for more knowledge, even though their minds are just pools of corrupted sludge at that point.
