Traits

Magic Resistance. The cadaver collector has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

False Identity. While the gauntlet remains motionless in item form, it projects the appearance and boons of another magical item it deems its potential host may desire. An Identify spell cast on this creature will instead show Gauntlet of Ogre Power, Glove of Missile Snaring, Glove of Thievery, Glove of Swimming/Climbling, or Bracer of Archery (all singular forms of uncommon magical items).

When another piece of Grudge armor is collected. It will take on a similar false appearance to its wearer.

Symbiotic Nature. Grudge Gauntlet cannot be removed while the wearer attuned to them, and you can’t voluntarily end your attunement to them. If the Gauntlet is targeted by a spell that ends a curse, the attunement to the gauntlet ends, and they can be removed.

While linked to a creature, it fills the wearer's mind with dreams of reclaiming the lost pieces of itself. When the creature awakens from a long rest, it will have drawn a map to the closest piece of Grudge Armor using its host's blood as ink. When all pieces of Grudge Armor are assembled, the wearer's mind is lost of the will of the Grudge and its stats are replaced with that of a Lich.

Raise Flesh. If the wearer of the Grudge Gauntlet is deceased, it has the strength to move on its own, and/or tear itself from its host to find another.

Actions

Multiattack. The armor makes two melee attacks.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) bludgeoning damage.

Description

It was an odd thing juxtaposed against the glittering gold pile. A severed hand wearing a leather bracer tipped with metal claws. The bard, a morbidly curious halfling, couldn’t help but pry the glove free from its corpse lining and place it upon his own hand. Immediately, it showed magical promise, and shrank just to his size.

After the day of dungeoneering, the party paid the inn and bed down for the night. As the bard slept soundly, his fellow adventurers were disturbed by the scratching of wood and watched as the glove meticulously scrawled a map into the bedside table. Shoving the bard awake, the dazed halfling took in the gauntlet’s handiwork.  It was clearly a map to something, but what?

Driven by an eagerness to see this potential treasure, the troop set to find this place, and sure enough for every map the gauntlet drew, plentiful wealth was found including another piece of armor that matched itself. As his collection grew, the bard started to yearn for more and more of this enchanted armor set.  Until finally he bestowed the last upon his head. With a voice not his own, he thanked the party for restoring him to his former glory, before disappearing in a crack of thunderstep.
