Traits

Echolocation. The bitten can't use its blindsight while deafened.

Keen Hearing and Smell. The bitten has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Shadow Stealth. While in dim light or darkness, the bitten can take the Hide action as a bonus action.

Tiny Steed. The bitten can be ridden as a mount by any Tiny creature smaller than itself that weighs no more than 10 pounds (including any equipment). It moves at half speed if carrying more than 5 pounds.

Pack Tactics. The bitten has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the bitten's allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn’t incapacitated.

Pounce. If the bitten moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a claws attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 6 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the bitten can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.

Actions

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +0 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 1 piercing damage, plus 2 (1d4) necrotic damage. The bitten gains temporary hit points equal to half the necrotic damage dealt.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 slashing damage.

Shadow Breath (recharge 5-6). The dragon exhales dark energy in a 10-foot line that is 5 feet wide must. Each creature in this area must make a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw, taking 10 (3d6) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful save.

Description

A bitten is an adorable creature with the head and body of a young housecat, but the wings of a bat. Make up whatever lore for them you wish. I just saw a picture of a kitten dressed as a bat and thought "man I gotta make that in d&d." You may also give them extra abilities or remove abilities to fit better with your lore. The following lore is my own.

Just like bats and cats, bittens are nocturnal. They are carnivorous fluffballs who hunt on the ground, hidden in the grass at night, and who sleep curled up in the trees at night. While they have the ability to breathe dark energy, they typically reserve that power to fight off predators and hunters. They live and sometimes hunt in groups, and they go after prey often larger than themselves in order to feed the whole family.

Some sprites and other small fey ride bittens as nighttime mounts, as do some tiny undead. Wizards, necromancers especially, seek out bittens as familiars. Bittens were first created because a mage thought it would be cute, and dammit, they were right!
