False Appearance. While the scarecrow remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary, inanimate scarecrow.
Danse Macabre: The scarecrow can take the Disengage action as a bonus action on each of its turns.
Surprise Attack. If the scarecrow surprises a creature and hits it with a claw attack during the first round of combat, the target takes an extra 5 (2d4) damage.
Multiattack: This scarecrow makes two claw attacks.
Claws: Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (2d4 + 3) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of the scarecrow until the end of the scarecrow’s next turn.
Terrifying Glare. The scarecrow targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. If the target can see the scarecrow, the target must succeed on a DC 11 Wisdom saving throw or be magically frightened until the end of the scarecrow’s next turn. The frightened target is also paralyzed. Creatures immune to fear are immune to this effect.
Flaming Nightmare Thread: The first time Agatha's Scarecrow takes fire damage, its body bursts into flames. While on fire, the scarecrow and all creatures adjacent to it take 5 fire damage at the start of the scarecrow's turn.
The nightmare threads Agatha wove to stitch the Scarecrow's body together, makes it a terrifying vision. Each creature that can see it within 30 feet must make a DC 14 Wisdom Saving Throw or be [Tooltip Not Found] of Agatha's Scarecrow for 1 minute. A creature that fails the saving throw can repeat it at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Creatures immune to fear are immune to this secondary effect.
Description
While Baba Yaga, Morgan, or Iggwilv may have been the Mother of Scarecrows, Agatha perfected the craft. Sensing her time was inching forward, the mighty hag made preparations for her inevitable fall. She planted a twisted field of corn that shifts and shrieks. She sewed a simple scarecrow to protect her using threads woven from a nightmare. And finally, she bonded the spirit of a fool that thought the could steal from her.
