Luminous. The asteroid worm projects a dim light from its head that illuminates objects within a 2-foot radius.
Mana-Based Organism. The asteroid worm does not need to breathe, but will immediately die when exposed to an anti-magic field.
Twinkle. The asteroid worm ignites its pearls, covering 20 feet of its surroundings in bright light and 40 feet further in dim light. The asteroid worm can stop glowing at any time, and can sustain it for up to 5 minutes.
Description
Asteroid worms (Estrellops eccentri) are a species of five-sided, tubular creatures with a limited ability to hover. Their faces are star-shaped, with a line of pearls running down each point.
The asteroid worm's diet entirely consists of mana, absorbed through its pearls. With enough energy, the worm can project intense light from its face. This light is supposed to deter predators, but the inhabitants of the Underdark have found more valuable uses for it. Asteroid worms have gained a reputation as "living flashlights" for this.
