Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the dragon fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Actions

Multiattack. Azurecgos can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (2d10 + 10) piercing damage plus 11 (2d10) lightning damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d6 + 10) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d8 + 10) bludgeoning damage.

Frightful Presence. Each creature of Azurecgos's choice that is within 120 feet of Azurecgos and aware of it must succeed on a DC 23 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to Azurecgos's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

Lightning Breath (Recharge 5-6). Azurecgos exhales lightning in a 120-foot line that is 10 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 23 Dexterity saving throw, taking 88 (16d10) lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Legendary Actions

Azurecgos can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Azurecgos regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Detect. Azurecgos makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.

Tail Attack.Azurecgos makes a tail attack.

Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions).Azurecgos beats its wings. Each creature within 15 ft. of Azurecgos must succeed on a DC 24 Dexterity saving throw or take 17 (2d6 + 10) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. Azurecgos can then fly up to half its flying speed.

Enervating Breath (Costs 2 Actions). Azurecgos exhales a cloud of dark energy in a 120-foot line that is 10 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 24 Constitution saving throw, taking 26 (4d12) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A creature who failed their save also takes 1d4 negative levels.

Description

Azurecgos, once known as the Storm-Caller first appeared on Innune around the year 642, at that point, they were a young dragon seeking to make their mark on the world, and settled in the forest of the southern region of what would become Gyaralus.

Azurecgos would over the years, begin to leave their lair less and less as they became more concerned with protecting their lair than increasing their hoard. Eventually, Azurecgos became too paranoid to leave their lair, and so, struck a bargain with the nearby tribe of Kenku, the Kenku would offer food and items to add to their hoard, in exchange, Azurecgos would protect the Kenku and their home from outsiders.

This deal suited the Kenku, whose greed now had a purpose. However, over the course of generations, many Kenku began wondering what benefit this deal had to them, and the gaze of their greed turned towards the enormous fortune sitting so close to their home.

Eventually, the greed of the Kenku got the better of them, and they attempted to steal from Azurecgos. Their attempt was unsuccessful, and an enraged Azurecgos cursed the Kenku so that they would be nothing more than a shadow of their true selves.

It would be many years later, when the Sanguine Lord of Beasts, Viktor Valacari would enter the forest and bring the curse of undeath with him.

Azurecgos is now known as "The Wyrm of Bones" and is the favourite pet of Viktor Valacari. Azurecgos is a dragon that standard 39 feet from the ground up, and is about 80 feet long with a wingspan of 120 feet. Azurecgos's flesh is rotted and in many places has fallen off altogether, what remains is a patchwork of rotted flesh and scales, giving way to enormous bones. The wings of Azuregos are still mostly intact, allowing them to fly and the eye sockets are empty, with the eyes having rotted and liquified some time ago, leaving a stain of ichor below the eye sockets that looks like tears of blood and ooze. The sockets themselves glow with electrified energy.
