Description
Drawn to natural and unnatural conflagrations, these beetles are typically seen flying in circles around ash pits of burned out trees, ash mounds of burned creatures or lurking on the sides of charred fauna. Black chitin covers these fist-sized beetles but when they move or fly, their flame red undersides are exposed. These industrious beetles feast on the carbonized remains of forest, grasslands and similar or even the carbonized remains of their victims.
They possess a crude intelligence which allows them a basic understanding of the Common tongue and are known to collectively message their targets prior to feasting by lulling their target into an attempt at communication.
