Child of the Earth. Whilst in contact with the bare ground or unworked stone an Annamite has 22 Armor class and resistance to all damage. If they are not touching the bare ground their Armor class is instead 15 and they are vulnerable to bludgeoning damage.

Tragedy of Harda. If the Annamite takes over 25 damage from a single source in one turn it must make a wisdom saving throw or be stunned until its next turn ends.

False Shell. The shell of the Annamite has the look of old and weathered stone decorated with giant runes, when the Annamite is motionless it is indistinguishable from a standing stone.

Actions

Shelled Roll. The Annamite moves 40 feet in a straight line, each creature within this line must make a DC 16 strength check or be Knocked prone and take 16 (4d6) bludgeoning damage, if the creature is already prone and rolled over it instead takes 32 (8d6) bludgeoning damage and is stunned until the end of its next turn.

Hurl Rock. Ranged Attack: +5 to hit, range 30/60 ft. Hit: 24 (7d4 + 4) Bludgeoning damage.

Reactions

Stone Catcher. As a reaction to being targeted by a ranged attack the Annamite can roll a D20 on an even roll they catch the projectile, this can only be done if they are in contact with the bare ground or unworked stone.

Description

Annamites or as they are traditionally called The Anchorites of Annam- or shelled giants, are a number of lesser giant kin created by Annam All Father in the distant ages of aeons past.

Legends say that one child borne from a tryst of Annam with a powerful being of the earth that lived beneath Ostoria the giant capital founded them- named Harda, a small giant only somewhat bigger than an ogre they were spurned by their father until he came across their power. Annam whilst wandering through the caverns below Ostoria during the child Harda's infancy, not long after abandoning them- saw that the child had prodigious resilience to all damage, in a fit of curiosity they hurled a rock to the child, whom stood firm and caught it.

The All-father was amused by this act, and repeated it amongst their own Giant children, finding no single one of them could catch a stone their father had hurled, soon whispers in the land of the giants began to state that Harda may be elevated within the ordning to become favoured by Annam.

Annam's legitimate children upon hearing of this decided to embarrass the child, finding out that their great fortitude was borne from connection to the earth- and where they to not be touching bare earth they would become diminished with even a light caress enough to split their hide.

With much convincing the giant's asked their father to demonstrate the child's capability, to bring them up to Ostoria and show their future equal's capability- Annam, being a prideful one agreed and brought Harda upon the fine worked stone of the cities great amphitheatre, hurling a stone with all of their might at Harda- whom found themselves vulnerable from the worked stone, and was killed on the spot.

Annam was enraged and hurled the ampitheatre from the city before retiring to their palace, never to allow another bastard child to attempt to prove themselves again...

But Harda's mother was distraught, taking the stones of the ampitheatre and her childs remains and forming a diminutive form of giant kin with the same resilience but now coated in a thick shell made of the buildings original bricks inspired by the snail like elementals from her home.

Annamites now live upon places with wide open terrain as to keep in contact with the earth and aware of the skies, staying so perfectly still they are mistaken for cairns and standing stones- in combat they are all but invulnerable when in contact with bare earth everywhere but the section of their body hidden away in their shell's which are exceptionally vulnerable.
