Skull of the Wendigo: When killed, the Wendigo drops it’s skull. If a creature attempts to hold the skull for 10 minutes, they must make a dc15 intelligence saving throw or they will attempt to fit their head into the skull. If their head is too big, they will crush their head to fit. If too small, their head shall grow. Once fitted into the skull, the creature shall become the Wendigo. The Wendigo will keep all features of the vessel creature, excluding armor, ac, and stats. The creature soon dies after becoming Wendigo and all memories from past vessels carry on. The skin then quickly decays and changes pigmentation to the one it is commonly said to have.
Infectious Worship: When touching a creature that has put it’s guard down, it can infect their mind and make them a follower. These followers have no control over themselves unless they truly believe in the Wendigo’s as a diety. Followers have the stats of a cultist.
Scratch: The Wendigo lunges at a creature with it’s claws out. The cuts are deep and are a +3 to hit and do 2d10 slashing damage.
Bite: The Wendigo attempts to eat the target. With a +5 to hit and 3d12 piercing damage, this bite is deadly. Once bitten, the victim will enter a state of uncontrollable hunger and attempts to feast on the nearest creature, all but the Wendigo. The bite does 1d10 piercing unless the victim has a bite attack.
Final Command: If a follower is coaxed out of the daze, Wendigo will make one final command to attack all around it.
Description
Very few sightings of Wendigo have been recorded. The ones that have as robe it the following features. The Wendigo is said to be a humanoid with the skull of an unknown cervid on it’s head. It has brownish black skin, probably decay, and an unquenchable hunger for human flesh.
Lair and Lair Actions
The lair of Wendigo always has a worship room that all cultists in the lair visit at a designated hour every day.
Lair Actions
On initiative count Wendigo takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the Wendigo can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- The lair shifts in room structure for one hour and then goes back to normal
- The walls open up and reveal the souls of the infected that try to grapple any who are near.
Regional Effects
The region containing a legendary Wendigo’s lair is mokay and rotten, which creates one or more of the following effects:
- The lair gives all undead and fiends a +2 to all rolls and +10 to hp.
- The lair is made wherever Wendigo desires but stays in place.
If the Wendigo dies, the lair will crumble and evaporate in 1 hour. The skull will rematerialize in a place it will one day be found.
