Traits

Shapechanger. The mimic can use its action to polymorph into an object or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Adhesive (Object Form Only). The mimic adheres to anything that touches it. A Huge or smaller creature adhered to the mimic is also grappled by it (escape DC 13). Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage.

False Appearance (Object Form Only). While the mimic remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary object, typically made of confectionery.

Grappler. The mimic has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.

Actions

Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) bludgeoning damage. If the mimic is in object form, the target is subjected to its Adhesive trait.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage plus 4 (1d8) acid damage.

Famish. One creature the mimic is grappling must succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed by the mimic until the end of the mimic's next turn.

Force Feed. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature that is grappled by the mimic. Hit: The target regains 1 hit point, and receives enough nourishment to sustain it for one day.

If the target is a creature other than a construct or undead, it must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or be infected with a disease—a minuscule mimic larva, which the target swallows.  A creature charmed by the mimic automatically fails this saving throw.

At the end of each of its turns, the target takes 2 (1d4) acid damage per larva it has swallowed (maximum of 10d4). A mimic-infested target dies if it drops to 0 hit points, at which point each larva emerges from the corpse as a juvenile mimic. If a mimic-infested creature is targeted by an effect that cures disease or removes a curse, all the mimics infesting it wither away.

Description

While most mimics are the epitome of ambush hunters, lying in wait to devour unwary adventurers, these bizarre specimens are the antithesis to the concept: they force their prey to eat them rather than the other way around.

This variety of mimic reproduces through parasitic budding.  By forcing a creature to "eat" it, the mimic deposits developing larva into the victim's stomach.  Each bite from the mimic's flesh rapidly develops into a new juvenile, which immediately begins to eat its way out of its host.
