motherhood. if you choose to have your party encounter a giant capybara in your campaign, than you should first determine if a giant capybara has a child near them. if they do, that giant capybara deals +1d10 damage with all of its attacks, gains a challenge level of 6, and will attack any hostile creature within striking distance.

neutral nature. a lone capybara will not attack any creature that does not attack it or provoke it in some way.

stomp. melee weapon attack: +5 to hit, reach 2 ft, 1 target. hit: 10 (3d10+5) bludgeoning damage. the creature must succeed on a DC 10 constitution check or be knocked unconscious.

Description

a giant capybara is an abnormally large herbivorous rodent that grazes on the lush plants in the jungles and rainforests of carthadontia. they can grow to up to twice the size of an elephant, and be as tall as a giraffe.

taming a giant capybara. there are a few recorded instances of a druid or ranger taking a baby or juvenile giant capybara, and training them to be companions in the harsh jungles of carthadonia. these giant herbivores are highly sought after by the wealthy families of carthadonia and have an average cost of 10 to 30 platinum pieces. a giant capybara takes 3 years to train, and lives for around 700 years.

al'carthadon. al'carthadon is the deity that presides over carthadontia, the continent that the giant capybara presides on. al'carthadon has two recorded sightings, and seems to have the appearance of a huge masked humanoid tree, with an elegant scepter made out of crocodile skin and pine.
