Description
Balrogs are tall and menacing beings with a mane of fire, bat wings, and forward-curving horns. They can shroud themselves in fire, smoke, and shadows. They frequently appeared armed with fiery whips and longswords, yet they have been seen wielding other weapons. They resemble massive pit fiends but are surprisingly quick and have been known to rival ancient dragons in strength. Balrogs are known to lie dormant in the deepest and most remote of places, and they seldom stir unless they are woken.
