Keen Smell. The strider has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Optimised for Cold Weather. The strider's large paws help distribute its weight evenly, allowing it to move through deep snow without any penalties, and to walk on thin ice without risk of it breaking unless the strider is carrying more than 300 pounds. Description
The ursine strider is an animal native to the cold north of the country of Aulden, but can also be found occasionally in the tundra far north of its homeland. Ursine striders look like a polar bear with the head and back legs of a large dog. Their ears are quite similar to those of arctic rabbits, and they can move them at will. Ursine striders are capable of moving quickly in arctic environments without sinking into deep snow, slipping on ice, or falling through thin ice. They are also quite strong and mostly docile, lending to their common use as riding or pack animals in colder climates.
