Protected core. While the Bone collector still has hit points remaining. It’s soft core is completely guarded from all physical and magical means. If it’s core is not destroyed after destroying the body then after six hours it will search for a new source of bones to regrow itself.

Actions

Multiattack. The Bone Collector can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its Bite and two with its Body Slam.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d10 + 7) piercing damage plus 11 (2d10) necrotic damage.

Body Slam. Melee weapon attack: +14 to hit, reach 15ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d6 + 7) bludgeoning damage plus 11 (2d10) necrotic damage. The target must make a DC 19 DEX save or be knocked prone.

Frightful Presence. Each creature of the Bone Collectors choice that is within 120 feet of the Bone Collector and aware of it must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the Bone Collectors Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

Description

The Bone Collector’s true form is a fleshy egg shaped object that can use ropes made of sinew to collect bones of all kinds and reform them to its liking. This Bone Collector has managed to grow to a gargantuan size through grossly unchecked bloodshed and slaughter.

This Bone Collector has grown to the point where it can no longer sustain further growth and resembles an enormous skeletal centipede held together by sinewy strands with a thick fleshy membrane protecting the core underneath a bony exoskeleton.

Lair and Lair Actions

The Bone Collector makes an Underground series of tunnels underneath a relatively unpopulated region as it’s lair, strewn with viscera and wandering creatures drawn in by the smell of rotting flesh.

Lair Actions

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the Bone Collector takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the Bone Collector can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • The Bone Collector can locate the rough location of any moving creatures in its lair up to 600ft
  • Each undead in the lair has advantage on saving throws against effects that turn undead until initiative count 20 on the next round.

Regional Effects

The region above a Bone Collector’s lair is stained with the taint of death which creates one or more of the following effects:

  • The smell of rotting flesh can be smelt up to 1km from any tunnel entrance.
  • The region is populated with an abundance of creatures that feed on carrion.
