Ammoniacal Makeup: If the Jelly is killed by acid damage, it dissolves into pure water.
Amorphous. The jelly can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.
Spider Climb. The jelly can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Transparent. Even when the jelly is in plain sight, it takes a successful DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check to spot a jelly that has neither moved nor attacked. A creature that tries to enter the jelly's space while unaware of the jelly is surprised by the jelly.
Noxious Compound (Recharge 5-6). The jelly creates a 20 ft radius cloud of toxic fumes centered on itself, identical to the effect of Stinking Cloud. The cloud disperses after one round.
Multiattack: The jelly makes two pseudopod attacks.
Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft, 1 target. Hit: 5(2d4) cold damage plus 5(2d4) acid damage.
Chemical Reaction: When the jelly takes acid or fire damage, it must use Noxious Compound as a reaction, regardless of whether it would normally be available.
Description
Unlike the acidic makeup of their brethren, Alkaline Jellies contain extremely high pH levels. Blindly scouring subterranean caves, these constantly bubbling transparent oozes use their unusual biology to their advantage, weaponizing their internal chemistry.

Posted Dec 12, 2019This is one of my favorite monster ideas, but I have to ask are the abilities based on a particular chemical? It's driving me crazy.
If it's not a specific chemical where'd you get the idea for it bubbling, being ice cold, and releasing a noxious cloud on contact with fire? Is it an amalgamation of various chemicals?
