Amorphous. The ooze can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.
Corrode Metal. Any nonmagical weapon made of metal that hits the ooze corrodes. After dealing damage, the weapon takes a permanent and cumulative −1 penalty to damage rolls. If its penalty drops to −5, the weapon is destroyed. Nonmagical ammunition made of metal that hits the ooze is destroyed after dealing damage.
The ooze can eat through 2-inch-thick, nonmagical metal in 1 round.
False Appearance. While the ooze remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an oily pool or wet rock.
Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) bludgeoning damage plus 7 (2d6) acid damage, and if the target is wearing nonmagical metal armor, its armor is partly corroded and takes a permanent and cumulative −1 penalty to the AC it offers. The armor is destroyed if the penalty reduces its AC to 10.
If its core is touched or shaken, it is prone to accidentally unleashing all of its stored energy in a single blast of raw power. Roll percentile dice, and if above 50, the core will activate and release it's energy. Refer to the list below to determine what power is released when the core is activated:
Ravenous Core. Faint White Glow: Eldritch Blast
Withered Core. Dim Yellow Glow: Lightning Bolt
Sated Core. Dim Orange Light: Scorching Ray
Engorged Core. Bright Red Light: Disintegrate
An engorged core sheds bright light in a 10-foot radius.
Once a core is released, it cannot be activated again until the creature rests a full day. After resting, the core will return to it's ravenous state.
Description
Though regarded as a much more docile version of the ooze family this small semi-transparent creature can be dangerous when a group of them are feeding. They are prone to wander through each other while eating metal. If and when their cores collide, it can create a cascading domino effect, which result in most, if not all Booglu accidentally unleashing the energy stored in their cores upon each other and anything unfortunate enough to be near them.
Booglu are a stone-grey in color, and their namesake comes from their ability to stick to nearly any surface like glue, and for the "Boo" sound they make when dissolving metal that emanates from the mouthlike hole near their eyes. Though the eyes traditionally face forwards above its orifice, the creature can move its eyes to any part of it's body. It is still unknown what purpose the eyes serve this ooze and it still seems to feel with its body.
Booglu were once favored as pets by paladins as the creatures would nest atop their magic armor. They would clean the metal surface of debris as they slowly moved around the armor. In battle, Paladins would fill their cores to create light unfavorable to the undead, and would use the creature for a strong ranged attack by striking the Booglu.
