Traits

Pounce. If the arachnosaurus moves at least 30 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the arachnosaurus can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.

Limited Spider Climb. The arachnosaurus can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check. The arachnosaurus has a more difficult time climbing than it does running on steady ground, and only has a climb speed of 30 ft.

Actions

Multiattack. The arachnosaurus can use its Web. It then makes one Bite or Claw attack.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) poison damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage.

Web Spray (Recharge 5–6). The arachnosaurus shoots web in a 40 foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or become restrained by webbing. As an action, the restrained target can make a DC 13 Strength check, bursting the webbing on a success. The webbing can also be attacked and destroyed (AC 10; hp 5; vulnerability to fire damage; immunity to bludgeoning, poison, and psychic damage).

Description

The arachnosaurus is a monstrous hybrid of predators. None are exactly sure of how they were created, some claim it was a trist of cruel gods while others whisper of the experimentations of a mad mage.

Arachnosaurus are generally solitary hunters, each claiming a territory in the forest or underdark where they seek prey. Although they do leave their territory to mate, this brief time away is rarely long enough for prey to realize it is gone.

Arachnosaurus are capable of spinning webs, but rarely do. Most prefer to chase their prey and trap them within web as part of the hunt. When in need of a quick meal they have been known to climb trees, walls and ceilings and drop down on unsuspecting prey.

Arachnosaurus have six spider-like legs ending with clawed feet. Eight bulbous eyes rest atop the jaws of an Allosaurus, and mandibles stretch around the side of its mouth.
