Description
Appearance.
The Binesi is a beautiful bird with elegant green tail feathers. Most of the feather dress is dark ocean blue and on the inside, the feathers are shiny silver-colored. The feathers turn slowly from blue to gray with the age. Males are often bigger than females, the most significant difference between males and females is the size, form, and color of the beak. The beak of a male is flatter on the end and points to a more raptorial behavior, the shade of the beak is rather yellowish. While the beak of the females is sharper and resembles a generalist more, the tone of the beak is somewhat orange.
Natural Habitat.
The Binesi exists in coastal regions near cliffs or hot mountain springs
Habits.
Binesis are natural fishers and hunt all day long when they have no young to protect. During the cooler months, the Binesi will hunt more fish than usual. Just like many birds, the Binesi will deliver the fish to their mate as a gift. Fascinating enough, both sexes will catch more fish to gift each other.
The Binesi is a quite peaceful bird for most of the year but in Autumn and Winter while the mating season, the birds will fight for mates. While this fight the Birds cause Thunder and Lightning Storms with terrible gusts. From there comes the nickname: "Thunderbird"
After mating seasons the females will lay an egg in the nest. Their nests are largely found near hot springs or little caves. The birds will leave for the coast after a few days the egg hatched. The young are very grown-up for their age and will go catch fish in rivers, lakes, and streams. After two years the young will be just like its parents and ready to mate and fight with all strength.
Special properties.
Binesi can predict and change the weather, which makes them invaluable as pets for Magicians.
Sadly is this species, near extinction due to poaching and overhunting. Legends tell that drinking this Bird's blood grants Thunder and Lightning immunity. Nobody could ever prove it but at the same time, nobody could ever disprove it.
