Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the ursikka fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Actions

Multiattack. The ursikka makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 15 ft., 1 target. Hit: 15 (2d8 + 6) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) cold damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 18). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the ursikka can't use its bite on another target.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 15 ft., 1 target. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) slashing damage.

Freezing Spit (Recharge 5-6). The ursikka spits viscous, freezing saliva in a line that is 5 feet wide and 60 feet long. All creatures in the line must succeed on a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, a creature takes 36 (8d8) cold damage and its speed is reduced by 20 feet for 1 minute. A creature that makes its save does not have its speed reduced and only takes half this cold damage. Creatures who have been slowed can make a new saving throw at the end of their turns, ending this effect on a success.

Description

Ursikka's resemble enormous, nightmarish praying mantises with tripartite jaws which can swallow a human whole. These vicious, short-tempered predators rule primeval environs by default, as few can match their hunger and ferocity. Ursikkas can reach 25 feet high, mostly due to the long, slender walking legs on which the creatures skitter with an eerie speed that belies their hulking size. A long, bloated abdomen accounts for most of the beasts’ 20 feet of length. Ursikkas’ thoraxes anchor their grasping forearms, which each end in sharp pincers capable of shearing flesh from bone like hot knives cutting through butter. Ursikkas’ white, shaggy fur covers the majority of their bodies, and their three-part maws ooze a freezing, sticky fluid that immobilizes their prey.
