Traits

Shifting Shadow. The voidborne image seems to shift and sway like a dark fog to the untrained eye, and they know how to use this to their benefit. The voidborne has advantage on stealth checks made in dim light or darker.

Born of the Heavens. The primary theory for the voidborne's creation is that they are spawned whenever the void consumes a star, and this gives credence to that. The voidborne's head is ringed with motes of light as per the spell crown of stars, except the motes remain until expended and recharge at dusk.

Spellcasting. The voidborne's spellcasting ability is intelligence (spell save DC 15). The voidbringer can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: darkness, detect evil and good, ray of sickness

3/day each: gravity well

1/day each: plane shift, finger of death

Actions

Multiattack. The voidborne makes two attacks with its Talons and one attack with its Wings.

Talons. Melee Natural Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., 1 target. Hit: 20 (2d12 + 6) piercing damage and 14 (2d12) necrotic damage.

Wings. Melee Natural Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., 1 target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 3) bludgeoning damage and 14 (2d12) necrotic damage. On a successful hit the target must make a DC 16 strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Skyfall. As a last resort a voidborne can drastically increase the gravity in its immediate vicinity, turning its own body into a devastating missile. Dropping from no less that 60 ft. targets within a 10 ft. radius of the voidborne's landing spot must make a DC 19 dexterity saving throw, or take 60 (15d6) bludgeoning damage and 60 (15d6) necrotic damage, halved on a success. The voidborne takes full damage from this attack, without a save, but still applies its resistances.

Description

The scout and vanguard for the void, capable of devastating large groups in the blink of an eye, these tremendous bat-like abominations relish the destruction they are assigned to carry out. More clever than a majority of their voidal counterparts, voidborne are utilized to their fullest when set against foes the brute strength of the void fails against.

The voidborne have an uncanny knack for manipulating gravitational fields, making their wings more for decoration than actual flight, as they make themselves weightless most of the time. The voidborne also lack the voidal gem that identifies so many of their brethren, leading many scholars to believe they are actually a separate race, or a creation of some creature from the void rather than natural spawn. Still make no mistake, their thirst for nothingness is true, and their loyalty to the void is unwavering.
