Traits

Spellcasting. The awanna is a 4th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 12, +4 to hit with spell attacks). It has the following druid spells prepared:

• Cantrips (at will): druidcraft, magic stone, guidance
• 1st level (4 slots): goodberry, purify food and drink, create or destroy water, cure wounds
• 2nd level (3 slots): lesser restoration, enhance ability

Symbiosis. Both the awanna and its host must eat, breathe and sleep. The awanna is attuned to the senses of its host and feels what the host feels.

Bonds Running Deep. The bottom of the awanna's feet are home to flowing threads that interweave with the skin of the host. To separate an awanna from its host requires a DC 16 Strength (Athletics) check.

Calamitous Separation. If separated from its host, the awanna has disadvantage on all attack rolls, ability checks and saving throws until it finds a new host. The host collapses immediately after separation.

Actions

Description

The Awanna are monkey-like creatures who roam the wild places of the world. They seek out those in need of aid, from lost travellers to wounded animals, and use their magical attunement to nature to offer assistance. In the unfortunate situation the Awanna is unable to offer enough aid they use the hundreds of narrow, wispy threads that flow from the soles of their feet to bond with the skin of the dying creature. By doing so the Awanna may harness the life force of the creature in order to help better in the future.
