Tough flesh. A vaati’s flesh is pretty resistant and provides an excellent armor. While vaati is wearing no armor its Armor Class equals 15 + Constitution modifier.
Spellcasting. The vaati vindeam is an 13th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 19, +11 to hit with spell attacks). The vaati vindeadm can cast dust devil, gust of wind and feather fall at will and has the following wizard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): dancing lights, gust, mage hand, prestidigitation, ray of frost
1st level (4 slots): detect magic, fog cloud, shield, thunderwave
2nd level (3 slots): misty step, skywrite, warding wind
3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, lightning bolt, wind wall
4th level (3 slots): freedom of movement, ice storm, storm sphere
5th level (3 slots): cloudkill, control winds
6th level (1 slot): investiture of wind
Wind Traveler. Vaati can use its gust of wind spell to triple its flying movement for one round.
Scimitar. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) slashing damage.
Description
The Vaati (VAH tee), or Wind Dukes, are a race of immortals dedicated to Law. Vaati look like statuesque humans. They are tall, muscular, and androgynous. As a rule, they wear no clothing but usually wear belts or harnesses to carry weapons and equipment. Vaati have smooth, ebony skin, brilliantly white eyes that sparkle with inner light, and velvety black hair (which usually is kept closely shaved).
Vaati are peaceful and prefer to negotiate rather than fight. If pressed into action, or faced with chaotic foes, they display considerable strength and ingenuity in combat.
Vaati society is divided into castes. Vindeam and Bledrudeam are two castes of vaati’s wizards. When not busy casting spells, they function as scholars, philosophers, and advisors. They also conduct most of the vaati’s business outside the valley, serving as ambassadors and troubleshooters. Vindeam specialize in spells involving the element air or gas.
