Description
The Ærea Machina, or Brass Machine, is much more complex than its name suggests. It is a combat automaton created for colosseum use, meant to be the "ultimate challenge" to whatever combatant it may face. In the eyes of whomever the master of the arena is, however, the Brass Machine is an executioner for warriors the crowd grows tired of. Its body is entirely encompassed in thick brass plating, nearly impossible to bypass with conventional weapons. Its head resembles a delicately shaped human face, or almost elvish in some features, being very androgynous in its look, with an expression of irritation etched into it, much like that of the common depiction of theatre masks. It carries a Gladius plated with brass, and a small round shield forged of brass, both of which appear to be held in a tight hammer-grip in brass carved hands that are not articulated, and therefore do not have the ability to let go of the weapons.
