Traits

Keen Hearing: The Troll has advantage on (Wisdom/Perception)checks that have to do with sound.

Regeneration. The troll regains 5 hit points at the start of its turn. If the troll takes acid or fire damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of the troll's next turn. The troll dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.

Camouflage. The Arboreal Troll has the unique ability to blend into the forest around it, much like a chameleon it gets advantage on all stealth checks in natural surroundings.

Brachiation. Arboreal Trolls can swing through the trees faster than they can run on land it gives them a +10 to their speed.

Actions

Multiattack. The troll makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) piercing damage. Venomous Constitution Save DC 14 or take an additional 1d6 Poison Damage and suffer from the Exhausted effect level 3.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (1d8 + 4) slashing damage.

Description

Speculatively cousins of the traditional Troll with a more snubbed nose however they have larger ears, and skin like that of a toad that blends very well in woodland surroundings large mouth with two rows of needle like teeth.  While not as large they are none the less dangerous usually operating in packs known as troupes, they are not vile just to be vile to them it is more a matter of hunger they are exclusively carnivorous and when they hunger they swing through the trees mimicking the sounds of local birds or insects to communicate if necessary. When they find prey they drop down from on high and attempt to grapple and bite.  Only acid and fire can arrest the regenerative properties of a troll’s flesh.

Lair and Lair Actions

The lair of an arboreal troll is more of a nest or a cluster of nests built high in tree tops in rain forests and tropical, subtropical, and temperate climates. Also in Swamps so long as they have trees to nest in. Sometimes the nests contain the items left over from their meals.
