Spellcasting. The blue protector is a 10-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is CHarisma] (spell save DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks). The blue protector has following sorceror spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): blade ward, firebolt, message, minor illusion
1st level (4 slots): charm person, fog cloud, magic missile, mage armor

2nd level (3 slots): hold person, levitate, misty step

3rd level (3 slots): blink, fireball, fly

4th level (3 slots): confusion, dimension door, ice storm

5th  level (2 slots): cone of cold, dominate person

Actions

Quarterstaff. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d6 + #) bludgeoning damage. Deals 4(1d8) if two-handed.

Reactions

Reflect Spell (5/Day). Magic is attracted to the blue protector as if they were a magnet. If a spell is cast targeting the blue protector or another creature within 15 feet, the blue protector can roll a Charisma saving throw against the spellcaster's save DC. If the blue protector's roll succeeds, they absorb the magic, taking no damage, and reflects it back at the caster, including the additional effects and modifiers tied to the spell. This uses the blue protector's spell save DC and spell attack bonus. This works for spells of all levels and does not consume spell slots. On a failed save, the spell continues as intended, but only deals half damage

Description

Blue protectors are a peculiar breed of casters. Many show a natural disposition to magic at an early age; blue protectors, however, display a different set of characteristic. As these children grow up, their skin develops a blue pallor which distinguishes them from their magical peers and others and marks them with they fey blessing. As they reach their teenage years, they begin showing an aptitude in magic, years after their magical brothers and sisters.

Primitive Casting. Once a blue protector's magical aptitude is revealed, they immediately begin their training at Fort Dexia, the school of magic. However, not showing any aptitude for combat magic, they train in domination and manipulative magics.

Magnetic Aura. Blue protectors are trained separately from the other initiates. Not for the sake of segregation but rather because the magic of others seems to be pulled towards them. Any spell cast in their vicinity will be absorbed and shot back out at the unintentional assailant. At first they do not have control over this, but through years of silent study, meditation and training, they learn to harness the ability and  put it to use.

Silent Protectors. The Blue Protectors are trained in meditation and are able to drop into a deep meditative sleep. Their magical sense allows them to sense magical threats without being conscious of the material world until they are touched. For this reason, they are inducted into the house guards of many high-ranking officials as they offer protection but do not pose a risk of leaking information from court.
